Mary Macdonald holds a M.A. in Political Science from the University of Ottawa. She was a long-time executive assistant to Lester B. Pearson while he was Secretary of State for External Affairs, Leader of the Opposition and Prime Minister. From 1968-1979 Macdonald was Administrative and Constituency Liaison Officer for PM Trudeau after which she retired from public service. In 1980 she was honoured into the Order of Canada.
